What makes your customer service outstanding?
My teams and I strive to make each customer feel like they are family. We personalize each interaction and tailor policies to meet each person’s needs. Customer service is the most important facet in my agency.
What’s a typical day look like?
There is no typical day in insurance! There are customer and team meetings, lots of phone calls, property inspections, educational events and also family commitments, including readying our son for college this fall. The days fly by.
What type of coverage do consumers often forget to purchase?
“Income protection,” meaning life insurance and disability insurance. Most people think their biggest asset is whatever costs the most. In reality, it’s their ability to financially provide for their family. Passing away prematurely or losing their ability to work can impact the standard of living and trajectory of their family’s lives.
Is it better to have a high insurance premium and low deductible or vice versa?
That depends on what works best for each customer and their financial situation. Every client is different because every household financial situation is different.
What is one of the biggest mistakes people make when it comes to their homeowner’s insurance?
Not looking over your policy documents to see what’s covered and what’s excluded. Be proactive in asking questions. You don’t want to find out you don’t have coverage when a claim occurs.
How often should coverage be reviewed?
Yearly at minimum and at every life event or change.
What’s the difference between insurance for replacement costs versus actual value?
Replacement cost is how much you will need to build your home from the ground up. Market value is how much someone will pay for your home as it stands. Sometimes it costs much more to build than to buy because of the cost of building materials. It’s not often that market value and replacement cost are the same.
