10 Bella Vita Jewelry Workshops to Round Out Your Summer

Looking for your next summertime activity? Bella Vita Jewelry is offering workshops throughout all of July and August at its studio in downtown Little Rock. Classes feature local creatives and artisans in everything from ceramics to astrology. Here’s what to put on your calendar.

 

July 8Aug. 12 – Intro to Birth Charts

You’ll walk away from the workshop with a beautiful handmade astrological charm necklace unique to you and a copy of your birth chart and 411 on how to read it! This workshop is taught by Michelle Rhodes of Moon and Myrrh. It will take place from 6-7:30 p.m. both nights.

 

 July 10 – Coil Incense Burners & Trinket Dishes

Rolling Hills Pottery is back with another workshop at Bella Vita. In this class, Chris Swasta will show you how to make incense burners and trinket dishes with a few techniques from clay. All experience levels are welcome. It will take place from 2-3 p.m. Cost of the class includes all materials and instruction. The class fee includes tool rental, clay, glaze color of your choice and two kiln firings.

  

July 14 & Aug. 11Wire Wrapped Quartz Crystals 

This workshop is taught by Megan Choate of Bella Vita Jewelry and will take place from 5:30-7:30 p.m. both nights. This workshop includes two Arkansas quartz crystals, leather cords, wire and instruction.

 

July 22 – Friends Night Out + Jewelry Swap

Prepare for an evening of swapping, chatting, shopping and mocktails by Mocktail Mo. This Friends Night Out event will take place from 5:30-7 p.m. Bring in pieces that only got one or two wears out of them or pieces that you have worn too many times to count but are now tired of. It is time for those accessories to find a new home.

 

July 24 Local Flower Arrangements

Participants will practice making their own bouquet and will take home a finished bouquet at the end of the class. The two-hour workshop includes basic floral design skills, information on sourcing and growing local flowers and tips on how to prolong the vase life of your flowers. This workshop is taught by Kim Doughty-McCannon of Bell Urban Farm from 2-4 p.m. 

 

July 25 & 29– Intro to Flowy Watercolor Bouquets

By the end of the workshop, each student will leave with a finished painting, along with the basic skills needed to create their own future artwork. This class is great for both beginners and those who have been playing with paint for years. Supplies are included and there is a limit of six people. This workshop is taught by Emily Wood from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday. Cost includes all supplies needed for the workshop.

 

July 28 – Crafty Night Out – Earring Party

Expect trays of beautiful glass beads and metal charms for you to design your own pair of earrings from. You design the earrings and Bella Vita will make them for you. Each ticket includes one pair of earrings. Extra pairs of earrings are $10 each.

 

Aug. 1 – Crafty Night Out – Friendship Bracelets

Take a trip back in time with your favorite pals while you re-learn how to make the classic macrame friendship bracelet, embellished with an antique button and BFF charm. This event will take place from 4-6 p.m.

 

Aug. 7 – Dried Floral Arrangements

Join in from 2-3 p.m. for a workshop led by Alecia of Alchemy Atelier with an assortment of dried flowers for you to choose from. Alecia will go over the basics of how to care for dried flowers and how to arrange them. Participants will take home a finished bouquet at the end of the class. 

 

Aug. 8 – Crafty Day Out – Alphabet Bracelet

Try this simple, but fun bracelet making project from 2-4 p.m. The workshop will be offered in person and seating is limited to eight people.
