Little Rock is about to get a little less fashionable.
Beige, the iconic minimalistic women’s clothing shop in The Heights, will close its doors on Saturday, Aug. 24. The announcement was made this week in an Instagram post on the store’s page.
“This isn’t a decision that I have made lightly,” founder and creative director Ashley Peeples writes, “… but the extra time will allow me to spend more time with family, travel and explore other creative outlets. I feel like a pause is necessary and I’m embracing the opportunity for new beginnings.”
The contemporary designer boutique originally opened in the River Market in 2015, then became a fixture in The Heights when it moved into its current space in 2018. Originally carrying menswear and womenswear, the store then evolved its focus to womenswear, accessories and home goods.

Beige produced several editorial lookbooks with local photographers, graphic designers and makeup and hair artists. In the fall of 2020, the team released the first issue of Beige Magazine, a physical representation of the store’s inspiration and seasonal looks. A second issue was released in 2021, and two newspaper-inspired pieces titled “The Preview” were published in the following years.
In a February 2021 cover story, Soirée sat down with Peeples to talk shop and get an inside look into the business owner’s style and life. When asked about her intention in designing the shop, Peeples explained her “goal was to provide our guests with an inviting and uncomplicated environment. Having less distractions and clutter allows you to focus and make more intentional purchases.”
After nine years in business, it’s clear Beige made its stylish mark on Little Rock and beyond. Whatever is next for Peeples and the team, we will be eagerly awaiting.
Beige is currently offering 30% off the entire store until closing. Shop in person at 5915 Kavanaugh Blvd. or online at beigelr.com.
