Behind the Menu of Tabriz 2017

Take a trip to New York City this May without ever leaving the comfort of Little Rock. 

This year, Tabriz, the Arkansas Art Center’s bienniel event benefitting the center’s acquisitions and educational programs, is sparing no expense to bring a little slice of the Big Apple to the AAC for Tabriz: Auction in the City on Thursday, May 4.

Renowned for being the largest silent auction in Arkansas, the night will whisk guests away to Central Park and Times Square for a one-of-a-kind evening. The Soirée team went behind the scenes to sample the delectable fare that will be served at this year’s Auction in the City. 

Tabriz’s Central Park will feature turf, classic street vendor food carts and exclusive beer and wine selections. The menu features typical NYC street fare such as pretzels and spicy mustard and of course, the traditional Tabriz hot dogs. For the vegetarians in attendance, hummus with celery and carrots will be available.

For dessert, Simply the Best is creating gluten-free brownies and classic NYC black and white frosted sugar cookies. You may have peeped the mini churros and chocolate ganache created by Simply the Best Catering above, and they’re just as delicious as you’d imagine.

As guests eat their way through the city, they’ll also be able to bid on more than 300 items, highlighting Arkansas-made pieces and unique art, along with parties, events and experiences. Guests can meander through Times Square, decorated with NYC memorabilia as they’re serenaded with Broadway show tunes from a gorgeous baby grand piano. The art gallery will double as the “Museum of Modern Art,” in true NYC fashion.
