Bang-Up Betty Releases New Jewelry Line Inspired by Art History

Local creator Bang-Up Betty is greeting the new season with a line of just-released jewelry inspired by iconic works in art history from the early 20th century and before.

Frida Kahlo, Vincent Van Gogh and Georgia O’Keeffe are just a few of the artists whose work is showcased in these pieces handmade by Stacey Bowers.

Bowers describes the collection like this:

“The Gallery Collection is jewelry inspired by art history, long walks in monumental museums and the little-told stories of the images and symbols that shape our view of the past and present. It by no means even begins to encompass the vast history of art, which spans every inhabited place great or small across the globe and includes every culture on our diverse planet. Consider it more like a room — a small gallery — wherein I’ve hung a handful of meaningful works to contemplate and paid homage to them with my own method of interpretive reproduction.”

This series comes on the heels of Bowers’ last collection inspired by Greek mythology. Although best known for jewelry pieces with empowering and snarky messages, her seasonal collections allow for a deeper exploration of theme, connection and artistry.
