Ballet Arkansas Kicks Off 41st Season with ‘Sleepy Hollow’

Kick off the Halloween season with Ballet Arkansas’ first production of the 41st season, “Sleepy Hollow.” The show is a mixed media full-length production designed in collaboration with the creative team at Cranford Co. and the Historic Arkansas Museum.

Featuring stunning photo and video projection and 360-sound, “Sleepy Hollow” is a bold retelling of a classic Halloween tale. The production will start the season with a spooky theme, similar to the tone set by last season’s popular production of “Dracula.”

“We’ve combined dramatic world premiere choreography with stunning multimedia content that features the professional dancers of Ballet Arkansas,” said Michael Fothergill, executive and artistic director for Ballet Arkansas. “Our visionary portrayal is unlike any other and is a bold new take on the classic narrative.”

The production is based around the 1820 story “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” written by American author Washington Irving. The story contains romance, horror and the infamous Headless Horseman.

Catch a production of “Sleepy Hollow” at UA – Pulaski Tech’s Center for Humanities and Arts Theater in North Little Rock on Oct. 18 at 7:30 p.m., Oct. 19 at 2:30 p.m. or 7:30 p.m. or Oct. 20 at 2:30 p.m. Guests are invited to wear costumes in celebration of the Halloween season.
