This week, the Arkansas Repertory Theatre will welcome the end of its mainstage 2014-15 season with one of the most talked-about and critically acclaimed plays to hit Broadway in years, “August: Osage County.”
The winner of five Tony Awards and a Pulitzer (among multiple other accolades), this story tells the tale of the dysfunctional Weston family, which gathers under one roof for the first time in years, causing quite the display of fireworks. Tensions rise, tempers fly and secrets emerge like they only can in the heat of August.
The dark comedy opens Friday night, June 5, at 8 p.m., followed by a post-show reception with the cast with complimentary champagne and light hors d’oeuvres. You can also join in for “Pay What You Can Night” and pre-show director talks with Bob Hupp on June 3, as well as the Clinton School of Public Service’s Distinguished Speaker Series on June 4.
It runs until June 21, but tickets will go fast. Get yours—along with showtimes and more information about the play—on The Rep’s website. You can also call (501) 378-0405 or stop by the theater’s box office downtown at 601 Main St., Little Rock.
