With the holidays just around the corner, our thoughts naturally turn to celebrating with family and friends. And for many of us, it’s tough to image what it would be like to struggle with hunger during this festive time of year. But for one in five families in Arkansas, that is a reality.
This is why the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra is partnering up with the Arkansas Foodbank to host a Turkey Drive for the Holidays during its “Beethoven and Blue Jeans” concerts taking place this weekend at the Maumelle Performing Arts Center.
Concert goers can drop off a frozen turkey (or other bird) before either concert and as a thank you, ASO is giving away a pair of free tickets to any future concert from the 2015-2016 season.
The concerts will take place on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 8 at 3 p.m.
Tickets start at $19 and are available online at www.ArkansasSymphony.org or you can call 501-666-1761. Tickets will also be available at the door.
