Mark your calendars, all you charitable souls. ArkansasGives is coming to a computer near you.
The Arkansas Nonprofit Alliance and the Arkansas Community Foundation are teaming up for a day devoted to online giving, kind of like the opposite of Cyber Monday.
It’s pretty simple, Arkansans. You have a 12-hour window to donate online to a local ArkansasGives registered charity of your choice, during which donations will be matched from a $250,000 fund.
“Nonprofit organizations across the state rely on the generosity of our communities,” said president and CEO of the Arkansas Nonprofit Alliance Stephanie Meincke said in a press release. “This event is a great way for Arkansans to support local nonprofits while encouraging others to be a part of the nonprofit community.”
ArkansasGives is set for 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday, April 2. Yes, that may seem like a long way away, but that gives you plenty of time to get your finances in order so that you’ll be able to spare a few bucks to your favorite local charity.
Nonprofits are encouraged to join in by becoming members of the ANA and registering by Feb. 14.
