After postponing in both 2020 and 2021, the Arkansas Women’s Hall of Fame will return to the Statehouse Convention Center on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, to honor women who have made a lasting impact in Arkansas.
The event will celebrate the sixth class of hall-of-famers, which includes eight new inductees (three posthumous honorees and one organization) that were announced in 2020 before the postponement, as well as the addition of two new honorees: Sissy Jones and the Junior League of Little Rock.
“As a result of moving back our date, the board further authorized and then approved the addition of two more honorees,” said Judge Rita Gruber, chair of the AWHOF board, which is comprised of members from across the state. “Sissy is a well-known entrepreneur in Arkansas and beyond in the field of fine jewelry. As a trailblazer in her industry, she has set a strong precedent for women based upon faith, hard work and perseverance.
“The Junior League of Little Rock is approaching its 100th anniversary of improving the community through trained volunteers. JLLR has provided leadership along with funding for significant community projects crucial to the improvement of children’s lives and others in need of assistance.”
