Arkansas Symphony Orchestra’s Grand Ball – Opus XXVIII

One of the most anticipated events of the year, the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra’s Grand Ball – Opus XXVIII – was an event that delighted all of the senses. Chaired by Shayla and Scott Copas, the ball was held November 17, at the Capital Hotel and raised $470,000 for ASO’s statewide music education programs. Patrons and sponsors enjoyed a special VIP reception in Ashley’s at 5:30 p.m., followed by a 6 p.m. cocktail reception in the hotel lobby. Guests bid on a variety of silent and live auction items presented by emcee Craig O’Neill and auctioneer Gaylen McGee, including jewelry from Sissy’s Log Cabin. A gourmet dinner featured entertainment by ASO musicians, including members of the ASO Youth Orchestra, and later, the ASO Big Band performed as guests glided across the dance floor. The experience continued Sunday morning with a Southern-inspired breakfast in Ashley’s, where gala-goers recalled the enchanting evening before departing.
