Arkansas Symphony Orchestra Opens 2014-15 Season with Pianist Andrew Staupe

The 2014-2015 Stella Boyle Smith Masterworks Series kicks off in Maumelle at the hands of the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra on Sept. 27 and 28, sponsored by the Metal Recycling Corporation. 

The Maumelle Performing Arts Center will host the ASO’s season opener with Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2, featuring pianist Andrew Staupe, Promenade Overture and Brahms’ Symphony No. 2. 

With a background in acting and theatre, Staupe has racked up awards, including the 2011 Pro Musicis International Award, appeared with multiple symphonies, collaborated with Grammy-winners and made his Carnegie Hall debut in 2012.

The Saturday performance will take place at 7:30 p.m. and the Sunday performance at 3 p.m. Tickets range from $19-58, with active duty military and student tickets at $10. The matinee performance is free to Arkansas K-12 students with the purchase of an adult ticket using the Entergy Kid’s Ticket.
