The lights, the rides, the food, the music — everything we love about the fair is officially back on the menu. The Arkansas State Fair will return this fall, Oct. 15-24, to the fairgrounds.
After canceling the iconic event in 2020, organizers announced yesterday that the Arkansas State Fair will be back with its full 10-day lineup for 2021, complete with the traditional livestock shows, pageants, carnival, concerts and exhibits.
A full concert lineup has yet to be released, but they did announce that Riley Green, the Academy of Country Music’s New Male Artist of the Year, will perform on the main stage Oct. 23.
General manager Doug White noted that things will still look different this year amid the ongoing pandemic, but noted his confidence in hosting a safe event.
“Yes, we’re aware that we’re in a COVID world,” White said. “Our carnival partner is fully committed to sanitation for their rides. They wipe down every ride, every seat after each patron leaves. They’re practicing social distancing still as they hold fairs right now across the country. They’re convinced that we can do this properly and safely. Our main concern is the safety and security of our patrons.”
White also added that non-vaccinated patrons will be asked to wear masks in order to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
