Calling all bingo fans: There will be bingo for a great cause this fall courtesy of Arkansas Lighthouse for the Blind. The nonprofit will host its inaugural fall fundraiser that will support its mission to provide more programs and services for people who are blind or visually impaired here in Arkansas. The event will take place Sept. 22 at 6:30 p.m. at the Pleasant Valley Country Club.
“Arkansas has the second-highest population per capita of people who are blind in the United States, according to the 2010 U.S. Census, yet there are very little services offered in the community to meet the demand,” says Katie Hall, Manager of Marketing and Development at the Lighthouse. “Our mission is to provide meaningful job opportunities and training for people who are blind, as well as services that improve quality of life for those who are blind or visually impaired.”
The event will feature an evening of hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, a silent auction and bingo with prizes of designer bags valued at $200 or more to help fund Arkansas Lighthouse for the Blind’s Community Low Vision Center in Little Rock. Tickets are $100 and can be purchased at ALFTB’s website or by contacting Katie Hall at 501-492-7509 or [email protected].
