Argenta Transformation Next for PopUp in the Rock

PopUp in the Rock strikes again, and this time it’s taking over Argenta.

This rapid community development initiative has been on a mission since 2012 to show the city of Little Rock just how much “underdeveloped potential” it possesses. At each PopUp, as a joint project between studioMAIN and Create Little Rock, the group sets up temporary installations that turn public spaces into creative, community-oriented areas.

At PopUp Argenta, from July 21 – Sept. 15, the parking lot on Main Street between Laman Library and 4th Street will be completely reimagined. The new, temporary lot design will include a stage, seating and space for vendors and food trucks.

To celebrate, PopUp Argenta is kicking off with a free night of food, entertainment and shopping. Guests can snag eats from Katmandu MoMo and Little Ranger Fried Pies, and wash it down with live music from Joshua Asante and a family-friendly sketch comedy show by Red Octopus Theater. Plus, you can peruse the booths of local vendors like Blackbird Soap Co., WoofCat and Rock City Thumps.

The opening night party lasts from 5:30-8 p.m. on Friday, July 21. Visit the PopUp Argenta Facebook event page for more details.
