Back in December, the Argenta Arts Foundation announced its upcoming Argenta Arts Acoustic Music Series to be held at The Joint in downtown North Little Rock on the third Thursday of every month in 2015. The series will feature many accomplished musicians, including Al Petteway, Mike Dowling and Ed Gerhard, all Grammy Award-winning guitarists.
This Thursday night, Jan. 22, is the first event of the series’ inaugural season where Al Petteway will take the stage. Not only does Petteway specialize in guitar, but is also highly skilled in percussion, lute, string bass and music composition.
Petteway’s work gains constant praise and attention nationwide. You may have even heard his music on the soundtracks of Ken Burns documentaries like “Mark Twain,” Emmy-winning “The National Parks – America’s Greatest Idea,” “Baseball – The Tenth Inning,” “The Dust Bowl” and “The Roosevelts.”
The show will take place at The Joint Theater at 301 Main Street in North Little Rock at 7:30 p.m. For more information on the series and performers, or to purchase tickets, visit their website.
