This month, stylist and editorial contributor Josie Burnett had the enviable task of perusing local shops for the perfect piece of furniture to feature.
“Everyone knows and loves Box Turtle, but I think a lot of people aren’t aware they have great furniture. Many of the shop’s small tables are available for purchase; you just have to find the tag,” Burnett says. “Aside from the table I pulled for the shoot, I spotted a chrome side table, an orange acrylic swivel chair, a funky green bar cart (which I purchased for myself!) and so much more. There’s a lot to see in the Hillcrest shop, so always keep your eye out for a fun piece to add to your collection.”
“It was trial by fire.”

“We had a vision to kick off the new year with something bright, fresh and warm to remind us during the dark days that there is sunshine ahead. You just need hope (and patience),” art director Emma Devine says. “For the 20th Century Club, we liked the idea that ‘hope springs eternal,’ so we chose to shoot at Plantopia’s greenhouse, where it’s always balmy and beautiful things are growing.”

While digging for updates on restaurant news, there was one rumor we had to know about: Is Fidel & Co. bringing a coffee shop to Riverdale? We asked Remolinos Group — the parent company behind Fidel & Co., Sterling Market, Loca Luna and Red Door, the latter two of which are under renovation — and their answer left our mouths watering.
“We’ve heard the same rumors about Fidel & Co. And while we can’t confirm anything just yet, let’s just say you might spot some familiar, top-quality coffees and pastries in early 2026. You never know.”
