Signature Color
“City Year AmeriCorps members are easily recognized by their iconic red jackets representing a commitment to public service and education,” stylist Josie Burnett says. “For the Nash’s photo shoot, we have Creshelle donning the signature red to stand out against the neutral set while Bob’s tie also reflects the striking color.”
Drawing Inspiration
During her month as an artist in residence at the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts, Jiha Moon hosted an artist talk that our art director Emma Devine is still thinking about.
“I loved hearing about Jiha’s process and the references behind some of her work after seeing her pieces up close at our shoot. One of the main points of her presentation was how different generations relate to the same symbols and creative works throughout history. Case in point: tie-dye. After putting her son in a tie-dye shirt when he was young, Jiha then learned about its role in ‘60s and ‘70s counterculture. As a resident of Florida, she now sees it on tourist shirts at the beach. Symbols never really lose their original meaning, but evolve as time goes on.”
Art Alley
“The amount of public art, including dozens of murals, along with new and updated venues make for an exciting time for art lovers to call Arkansas home.”

Ease-y Work
This issue’s story on the Ease Supper Club & Bistro called for a little field work for writer Alexis Peters.
“In the name of research, we dug into the small plates and wine list at Ease Bistro one Friday night,” she says. “Think cottagecore and you’re on the way to picturing the casual, welcoming atmosphere. It was perfect for a double date, and we’d bet it would work well for girls night or an evening with a good book. Food was fresh, and the experience was, too.”
Picture Perfect
Team Soirée would like to give a special shoutout to Emma Mayes, who stayed busy this summer as Arkansas Business Publishing Group’s photography intern. You’ll no doubt see her work in upcoming Soirée stories, and you can see it now in our 2024 art gallery guide.
