AAC Now Accepting Entries for Annual Delta Exhibition

Do you hear that, artists? It’s the call for entries for the Arkansas Arts Center’s 62nd annual Delta Exhibition.

With the AAC currently undergoing massive renovations, this year’s exhibition will be held at various locations throughout the metro (more on that here), but that won’t stop the annual show that has grown to encompass works in all forms of media, showcasing the dynamic vision of some of the Mississippi Delta region’s finest artists.

“The legacy of the Delta Exhibition is an integral part of the Arkansas Arts Center’s past,” AAC Executive Director Victoria Ramirez says. “As the Arts Center looks toward its future, we’re proud to work with partners across our community to continue to showcase art from the region that will educate and inspire.”

The Delta Exhibition opens June 19 and runs through Aug. 23, but now is the time to enter your work. The competition is open to all artists who live or were born in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee or Texas.

Stefanie Fedor, executive director of the Visual Arts Center of Richmond, Virginia, will serve as this year’s guest juror. Fedor will determine which pieces will be featured in the exhibition, as well as a Grand Award winner and two Delta Award winners, while the AAC auxiliary group The Contemporaries will select the winner of the Contemporaries Award.

“As an expert in contemporary art from outside our region, Ms. Fedor brings a keen and experienced eye to the Delta Exhibition,” Chief Curator Brian J. Lang says. “Undoubtedly, the works she selects for the exhibition will help us see our communities – and our region – in a new light.”

All submitted work must have been completed during the last two years, and must not have been previously exhibited at the AAC, Historic Arkansas Museum, ACANSA Gallery, Thea Foundation or Argenta Branch Library.

The deadline for entries is March 22. For a full list of rules and instructions on how to enter, click here.
