Stephen King, Mary Shelley, R.L. Stine — these and their ilk are the masters of all things creepy, and they await you in the basement. (Cue the maniacal laughter.)
Ok, so maybe you’re not into scary stories, and that’s cool. The Friends of Central Arkansas Libraries (FOCAL) Used Book Sale Oct. 27-29 at the main library campus has you covered on every genre. And yes, the sale really is in the basement.
Sale hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Friday and Saturday with free admission, but a $5 wristband will get you into the preview shopping event on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. and early entrance on Friday and Saturday at 9 a.m.
FOCAL members can get in on all the early entrance opportunities, as well as take 50 percent off used books and 20 percent off gifts at River Market Books & Gifts across the street. If you’re interested in joining FOCAL, you can do so at the book sale.
Funds from the book sale go to the continuation of Central Arkansas Library System programs and materials.
