Singer and playwright Lisa Rock is bringing the music of duo Karen and Richard Carpenter to the CALS’ Ron Robinson Theater for a special one-night-only performance of “A Carpenters Christmas” at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 6.
Rock and her six-piece band are joined by pianist Drew Jansen for a performance of The Carpenters’ holiday hit songs like “Merry Christmas, Darling” and arrangements of songs like “Santa Claus is Coming to Town.” The concert will be based on the music from two of The Carpenters’ holiday albums and their televised Christmas performances.
The concert is hosted by Acansa, a nonprofit organization committed to broadening public access to the arts, providing educational opportunities and cultivating emerging artistic talent and local artists and art groups.
