Growing up I always knew I would be a surgeon. The first doctor in my family, I initially trained in orthopaedic surgery and then plastic surgery at Mizzou before completing an additional year of fellowship in aesthetic plastic surgery training at LSU New Orleans. Throughout, I have met incredible people I cherish, but it is good to be back home.

PRESSING QUESTIONS
How I knew this was my passion
As a plastic surgeon, I love making people feel good in their bodies. Watching someone become confident in not only their body, but themselves, is truly beyond rewarding for me.
A skill I never expected to need in this field
Marketing. Being in a private practice is like any other business. You have to build a good reputation with good work, but also know how to market well.
Best career moment so far
Seeing patients post- operation who are in tears and so very thankful for their results. These procedures can be life changing. I am thankful to be a small part.
Biggest challenges in my career
Imposter syndrome is real, especially being a female surgeon. We are doubted and have to work harder than the boys, but it is that much more satisfying proving people wrong.
