My very first job was working at The Full Moon when I was 15 years old and it initiated my passion for retail. I’ve worked in all aspects of this business, including serving as general manager of a national high-end retailer, but nothing can surpass living my dream of owning The Full Moon. Being a part of continuing the 32-year legacy of this unique gift boutique is an honor and a pleasure.

PRESSING QUESTIONS
Best moment of your career so far?
Having all my family, friends, previous owners, team members and loyal customers at our 30th anniversary celebration in 2013, right after I took ownership of the store.
If you could have lunch with any woman, who would it be and what would you order?
I would love to have cappuccinos with my grandmother, Bernice Kizer. I would get her advice on how she balanced raising three children, putting herself through law school, becoming a legislator and being elected the first female judge in Arkansas.
What advice would you give your 18-year-old self?
I would tell her that you can’t do everything on your own. It’s ok to ask for help.
What is a typical workday like for you?
I run the gamut every day — desk work, unpacking shipments, ordering new merchandise, and serving as delivery person, office supply manager, cleaning person, you name it! My favorite part of my day is being on the sales floor with my team and customers.
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
Seeing familiar customers — who have been part of our extended Full Moon family for so many years — walk in the door! Also, I enjoy hearing guests from out-of-town say, “There isn’t a store like this where we live!”
What have been the biggest challenges you’ve faced in your career and how did you overcome them?
The biggest challenge for me would be balancing family and work. Having a dedicated team at work and a supportive family has helped me balance the two tremendously. I’m very lucky!
Favorite part of living in Little Rock?
I love that we are a "big" small town — friendly faces wherever you go with new and exciting places to explore: restaurants, parks, shopping, entertainment, visual and performing arts and philanthropic events.
I wish I knew how to __________.
Sew.
