In March 2021 I opened my dream med spa, SKN at Franks Dermatology, with Dr. Hayden Franks. Growing up, I found a passion in helping others which led to my career in nursing. I loved being a nurse, but I soon discovered my interest in the aesthetics field. Aesthetics is more than just injections; my career allows me to build confidence in my patients by customizing a treatment plan based upon their needs. At SKN we offer personalized, high-end skin care and aesthetic products with a luxe experience to match.

A skill I never expected to need in this field

I never thought I would develop my own skin care line, Miller Marsh Cosmetics. In doing that, I have learned a lot about creating and manufacturing skin care products.

How I knew this was my passion

I wanted to do something that helped others and allowed me to have a creative outlet. I love being able to help someone feel like the very best version of themselves and this career allows me to do that.

My first job and what it taught me

Cleaning houses. It taught me the importance of hard work and the value of money.

Nonprofit I wish more people knew about

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has been instrumental in developing new drugs for patients with cystic fibrosis. They are at the forefront of their research and I know they will find a cure for cystic fibrosis in our lifetime.

Best advice I ever received

Great things take time, don’t rush it.

What keeps me coming back to my job every day

Seeing my patients happy and more confident in themselves is the best motivation and reward. I am so thankful my job allows me to do what I love everyday.

One practice I use to maintain my mental health

I exercise every morning before work to get my mind right for the day.

The one thing I wish people knew about my field

It is not as much about the way I make people look, but the way I make people feel. It’s not about vanity, it’s about creating self-confidence.

The first thing I do to course-correct when I hit a wall

Stepping away, leashing up my pups and taking them on a long walk always clears my head.

Biggest challenges in my career

Turning off my work mode and relaxing.
