I own Galley Support Innovations, an aerospace manufacturing company. We design and manufacture interior hardware for aircraft (think aircraft latches). My husband and I bought the company in 2005. I also have the honor of serving as an international trade advisor to Congress. My passion is giving opportunity to those who have not had the same opportunities that I have had. I am an avid supporter of others. I want to be mentioned in more acceptance speeches than I give. I love to see others win!

PRESSING QUESTIONS
How I define success:
I would define success as being independent. It doesn’t matter how much you have as long as you don’t have to depend on someone else to support you.
Best career moment so far:
That’s a toss up between receiving Small Business Administration Person of the Year from Mark Cuban and having to expand our parking lot twice in three years. Expanding the parking lot means we are providing jobs for more people.
Biggest challenges in my career:
Being a woman in my field is challenging. I must prove I’m not a figurehead. I overcome that challenge by working hard, learning as much as I can and relying on allies.
My typical workday:
There is nothing typical about my workday. It could be anything from meeting with customers or reading trade agreements to cleaning toilets or speaking to groups about business and STEM careers.
Most rewarding part of my job:
The life change I get to see in my employees — getting to know them, praying with them in tough times, celebrating with them in good times or watching someone who just needed an opportunity to blossom into a self-confident professional.
Best advice I ever received:
Don’t worry about what others think about you. The truth is they are too busy thinking about themselves to think about you anyway.
I wish I knew how to:
Paint
If I could lunch with any woman, it would be:
Eleanor Roosevelt. I would order soup, because I would want to make as little noise as possible so I could listen!
