I started my own consulting company, LH Global Solutions, after a decade of working in global business development at the Arkansas Economic Development Commission. I enjoy assisting international companies in the global marketplace. I get to do that also in my position as the Czech honorary consul for the state of Arkansas and the chair of the Arkansas District Export Council.
I started taking English and German when I was 11 and the world opened up to me. I knew then I wanted to be involved in international business on some level when I grew up.
The challenge was finding a way to use my background and interest in international business and retain the ability to live in Little Rock instead of a large U.S. city.
Stay open to new possibilities and view challenging situations as an opportunity to grow and learn.
Hosting a group of Czech ministers and business owners on their trade mission to Arkansas. I also had the good fortune to travel in the opposite direction, taking two different Arkansas governors on trade missions to Europe.
Madeleine Albright is my person of inspiration. I respect her for her leadership role in U.S. politics, her accomplishments and her ability to speak her mind in challenging situations. Her tenacity and intellectual acumen are admirable. Many people don’t know that she was born in my home country and speaks fluent Czech.
You can measure success quantitatively and by meeting your goals. Success is also about having a positive impact in the community and being respected for what you do.
It is the sense of place and community. And also the 50-meter pool at the Racquet Club!
