Men on a Mission 2026: Phillip Jones

Phillip Jones
Principal Broker & Owner, Arkansas Mountain Real Estate

MY FIRST JOB AND WHAT IT TAUGHT ME
Running a lawn mowing business. It taught me to show up, work hard, take pride in the job and treat people right. I learned early that doing what you promise is how you earn someone’s trust.

BEST CAREER MOMENT SO FAR
Serving as 2026 president of the Arkansas REALTORS® Association. Visiting local boards, listening to members and bringing people together across our state has made “Rooted in Relationships” more than a theme for me.

A SKILL I NEVER EXPECTED TO USE IN THIS FIELD
Public speaking. When I started in real estate, I never imagined I’d be speaking to rooms full of REALTORS® and community leaders. I’ve learned that sharing what I believe in can help bring people together.

HOW I KNEW THIS WAS MY PASSION
I realized it was about more than selling property. Helping families find their place and building relationships in my community gave me a sense of purpose that still drives me today.

LESSON I LEARNED THE HARD WAY
I can’t do everything myself. Asking for help and trusting good people doesn’t make me less committed. It helps me serve my clients, my team and our association better.

NONPROFIT I WISH MORE PEOPLE KNEW ABOUT
Hearts & Homes of Arkansas Realtors. It’s one way our Realtor community comes together to help neighbors in need. I’m proud to be part of an association that cares about the communities we serve.

BIGGEST CHALLENGES IN MY CAREER
Balancing my real estate business with serving Realtors across Arkansas. Markets change, and people count on me in both roles. I’ve learned to listen, stay flexible and keep showing up.

HOW I UNPLUG AFTER A LONG DAY AT WORK
After a long day, I like to slow down and spend time with my wife Jenny and our dogs. Being home in the Ozarks helps me clear my head and remember what matters most.

BEST ADVICE I EVER RECEIVED
To treat people right and keep my word. People may forget the details of a transaction, but they remember whether you showed up for them and did what you said you would do.

ONE THING I WISH PEOPLE KNEW ABOUT MY COMPANY
Arkansas Mountain Real Estate is rooted in the communities we serve. We know the Ozarks and Greers Ferry Lake area, and we care about helping our neighbors find the right place to call home.

LESSON I LEARNED THE HARD WAY
I can’t do everything myself. Asking for help and trusting good people doesn’t make me less committed. It helps me serve my clients, my team and our association better.
