I am in-house legal counsel for a nationwide telecommunications company and support board corporate governance matters, investor relations and treasury matters, securities law compliance, and strategic initiatives. I also lead a small, highly motivated team that manages all dispute resolution for the company. I began my career in private practice at Wright, Lindsey & Jennings and stayed for 11 years prior to joining Windstream. My Windstream position has greatly expanded in the last 10 years from one focused on disputes and risk assessment to a strategic and advisory role.

PRESSING QUESTIONS
BEST CAREER MOMENT SO FAR:
I have enjoyed many satisfying moments, but none compares to that first job offer from Wright, Lindsey & Jennings. How exciting to know I was employable and law school was worth the effort.
I WISH I KNEW HOW TO:
Play tennis! I was not interested growing up and have not made time as an adult to learn. I would love to play as it seems to be a great way to hang out with fun girls.
ADVICE YOU WOULD GIVE YOUR 18-YEAR-OLD SELF:
Be adventurous, be confident, be open, and choose fulfilling hobbies. Also, wear really cute (but appropriate) short shorts and bikinis because that becomes hard to do later in life.
MOST REWARDING PART OF YOUR JOB:
My clients are my fellow 13,000-plus employees. It is rewarding to assist them with resolving issues that hopefully make their jobs easier and allow them to move projects forward that, in turn, move the company forward.
FAVORITE PART OF LIVING IN LITTLE ROCK:
You can go anywhere in approximately 20 minutes. I love that because I am usually running late! Also, Robinwood is the most beautiful and fabulous neighborhood in which to live. I have developed wonderful friendships with my lovely neighbors.
IF YOU COULD LUNCH WITH ANY WOMAN, WHO WOULD IT BE AND WHAT WOULD YOU ORDER?
Norah O’Donnell (“CBS This Morning”). I want to eat tamales and drink beer with Norah because it would be a contrast to her professional and polished image. She is so smart and impressive.
HOW DID YOU KNOW THIS IS WHAT YOU WANTED TO DO?
I have always been able to make counterpoints and take adverse positions (that can be good and bad). I thought it would be a good idea to engage in a career that suited my personality.
BIGGEST CHALLENGES OR OBSTACLES YOU’VE FACED IN YOUR CAREER:
Striking a healthy balance between family time and work time. There is no resolution because one always “suffers” for the sake of the other. I focus on maximizing family time and alleviating guilt about how time is spent.
