3 Cocktail Recipes for Your Fourth Festivities

Cookouts, sunsets and a cool drink in hand — is there a better way to celebrate the Fourth of July?

The summer’s biggest holiday is just a few days away, and while on the hunt for what to sip and serve at our celebrations, we took some inspiration from the pros at Colonial Wines & Spirits.

Add these recipes to your roster for a taste of the season this weekend and beyond.

 

Firecracker Cocktail

Ingredients:

  • 4 oz. Ketel One Botanical Cucumber Mint Vodka
  • 4 1-inch cubes seedless watermelon
  • 2 limes, diced
  • 2 oz. simple syrup
  • Garnish options:
    • watermelon slices
    • cucumber slices
    • small mint sprigs

Directions:

Combine vodka, watermelon and lime in a cocktail shaker. Muddle all ingredients together. Add simple syrup, fill with ice, cover and shake until ice cold. For a lime rim, prepare using equal parts of salt and sugar and combine with freshly grated lime. Rim rocks glasses with a cut lime and dip in the lime rim mixture. Fill glasses with ice and pour the ingredients from the shaker into the glasses. Garnish with watermelon, cucumber and a mint sprig.

 

Pineapple Colibri

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz. orange juice
  • 1 oz. pineapple juice
  • 1 oz. Bacardi White Rum
  • 1 oz. Bacardi Dark Rum
  • 1 dash Angostura Bitters
  • orange wedge for garnish

Directions:

Fill a shaker with crushed ice. Pour in all ingredients and shake until chilled. Fill a highball glass with ice and strain the mixture into the glass. Garnish with an orange wedge.

Sea Breeze

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 oz. Reyka Vodka
  • 3 oz. cranberry juice
  • 1 oz. grapefruit juice
  • lime wedge

Directions:

Combine ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake well. Pour into a glass with fresh ice and enjoy.
