AAC to Host Internet Cat Video Festival

On July 10 and 12, the Arkansas Arts Center will play host to the Internet Cat Video Festival.

Yes, really.

The feline fest is exactly what it sounds like — a collection of cat clips ranging from the best six-second Vines to short films — and it all comes to us courtesy of the Walker Art Center in Minnesota.

We’ve all fallen down a rabbit hole of cat videos at one time or another, and this is the perfect crowd for reveling in it. The traveling festival even has the stamp of approval from NPR, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and Time magazine.

In preparation for the fest, the AAC will also host a food and supply drive for the Humane Society of Pulaski County. From July 5-12, dropping off donations will get you a free pass to one of the screenings. Click here for info on needed items.

Visitors have three chances to screen the film: at 2 p.m. on July 10 and 12, as well as an Art After Hours screening at 6:30 p.m. on July 12, which kicks off with a reception at 6 p.m. There will also be a chance to meet adoptable cats and dogs from the HSPC from 11:30 a.m.- 2:30 p.m. on July 10.

The Internet Cat Video Festival is free for members a $5 for non-members. Seating is limited and reservations are required, so call (501) 372-4000 to snag yours.
