SPONSORED: Convenient After-Hours Pediatric Care is Now Available Virtually

Presented by:

When a child gets sick in the evening, parents often face a difficult choice: Wait until morning, head to urgent care or go to the emergency room. To help families access timely care from home, Arkansas Children’s now offers convenient after-hours pediatric video visits for families across the state.

These virtual visits allow parents to connect with a trusted pediatric provider from the comfort of their home, making it easier to get medical guidance when a child isn’t feeling well after the school day ends.

“Pediatric video visits are helpful for many common illnesses,” says Parker Davidson, M.D., pediatrician and medical director of Arkansas Children’s Pediatrics in west Little Rock and assistant professor at UAMS. “Providers can evaluate symptoms, recommend treatment, prescribe medications when appropriate and help determine if an in-person visit is needed.”

Virtual visits can address a variety of everyday childhood health concerns including colds, flu symptoms, rashes, allergies, stomach issues and minor infections. For many families, this option provides peace of mind and quick access to pediatric expertise without leaving home.

After-hours video visits are available seven days a week from 4:30-10:30 p.m., offering families flexibility after work, school activities and sports practices. Instead of spending time in a waiting room, parents can schedule a same-day appointment and speak directly with a pediatric provider through a secure video connection.

The service is designed to be simple and accessible. Each visit costs $75, and insurance is not currently accepted. Any child living in Arkansas can use the service, and families do not need to be existing patients of Arkansas Children’s to schedule an appointment.

By expanding virtual care options, Arkansas Children’s continues its commitment to meeting families where they are, providing trusted pediatric care when it’s needed most.
