Men on a Mission 2025: Matthew Vannatta

Matthew Vannatta
VP of Government Programs, Arkansas Blue Cross & Blue Shield

MY FIRST JOB AND WHAT IT TAUGHT ME
I worked at a second-run movie theater. You do a little bit of everything in a setting like that. It certainly taught me a lot about what customers value, but also how a small business operates on a tight budget.

ONE PRACTICE I USE TO MAINTAIN MY MENTAL HEALTH
Coaching Little League baseball. Gives me a chance to be a kid again a few times a week.

BEST ADVICE I EVER RECEIVED
Make the best decision you can with the information you have at the time, and then move on.

NONPROFIT I WISH MORE PEOPLE KNEW ABOUT
Joseph Pfeifer Kiwanis Camp. The camp has been helping disadvantaged and at-risk youth in the central Arkansas area since 1929. It’s a great organization run by individuals who have dedicated their lives to helping the youth of Arkansas and beyond.

ONE THING I WISH PEOPLE KNEW ABOUT MY COMPANY
What a great job our customer service and medical management teams do in helping our members find the care they need.
