The 7th Street Mural Project artists are kicking the year off with an art market titled Spring on 7th.
The project — designed to showcase “social artwork for peace, justice and equality” — is inviting artists to paint more murals alongside previous Seventh Street art, and is using events like Spring on 7th to help raise awareness of their existing work. This event will also help raise funds for needed art supplies and connect artists with the community.
The art market is meant to serve as a public space where local artists can gather, network, collaborate on new projects, and inspire each other and the community. The 7th Street Mural Project creates a safe space for artists to feel free to express their creativity and share it with others.
Spring on 7th will be open from 11 a.m.-7 p.m., April 25, at the the 7th Street Mural Project. There will be live performances, art demos, workshops, live painting, family-friendly games and activities, and food and drinks.
Admission is free. Vending is open to local and independent artists, crafters and makers for a $20 fee and the deadline to apply is April 15. Email 7thstmuralproject@gmail.com to apply.
