6 Winter Skin Care Tips For Radiant Skin

Between freezing temperatures outside and the heater blasting inside, your skin may be in need of a little extra care. We reached out to the experts for some advice on protecting your skin from winter’s wrath and how to get that healthy glow back. Tiffany Estes, licensed aesthetician and owner of Little Rock Look, shares six winter skin care tips to achieve radiant skin.

1. Find nourishing cleansers and hydrating toners.

Look for cleansers that don’t have any acids, benzoyl peroxides, or any other chemicals that could be drying you out.  You need something softer and more nourishing in a cleanser during winter.  Be sure to use a toner or skin conditioner to hydrate and keep your skin at a healthy PH level.  This ensures your skin will do its part naturally to produce adequate oils.

2. Don’t over exfoliate.

You may be inclined to over exfoliate since your skin feels dry and flakey, but think nourishing not stripping.

3. Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize.

If you typically have dry skin year-round, we recommend using a moisturizer that has essential oil properties at least once a day during these extra cold months. Find a product with hyaluronic acid in it. It not only delivers water to the skin, but also helps naturally plump up your skin cells and provides abundant hydration.  Use a heavier moisturizer at night when your body and skin replenishes itself. Your skin will drink it up and be glowing in the morning!

4. Use sunscreen.

It may not feel like it, but the sun can still do a lot of damage to your skin in winter. Remember to apply broadband sunscreen daily.

5. Get a facial.

A vitamin infusion facial reconstructs your skin from the dermis layer up while deeply penetrating vital nutrients into the epidermis leaving you with a beautiful glow. For those with sinus issues, get relief with vitamin C infused products, hydrating steam, pressure point facial massage, and aromatherapy.

6. Hydrate!

Drink plenty of water to keep you hydrated inside and out.
