Local art enthusiasts, the time has finally come. The 59th Annual Delta Exhibition opens at the Arkansas Arts Center in just a few days, showcasing the work of some of the Mississippi Delta region’s finest artists.
The exhibition officially runs June 9 – Aug. 27, but includes a special lecture and reception on Thursday, June 8, at 6 p.m. Not only will attendees enjoy a lecture by guest juror Betsy Bradley, director of the Mississippi Museum of Art, but they’ll also be the first to see the exhibition and to hear the announcement of the winners.
Prizes include the $2,500 Grand Award, two $750 Delta Awards and the $250 Contemporaries Delta Award. Pieces must have been completed in the past two years by artists who live or were born in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee or Texas.
