Now in its seventh year, North Little Rock’s annual Northern Lights holiday celebration will return to Argenta Plaza on Saturday, Nov. 23, to help kick off the season. This family-friendly event is free and open to the public, and runs from 3-7 p.m.
So what is there to see and do at this year’s event? Here are five highlights:
1. Take photos in front of North Little Rock’s 38-foot Christmas tree. Located in Argenta Plaza, the tree will be lit nightly starting in early November and lasting through the holidays. Santa and Mrs. Claus will also be nearby for photos and in case you need to pass along any gift ideas.
2. Choose from a variety of food trucks and restaurants in the Argenta Arts District for dinner, snacks and libations. And because the plaza is within the entertainment district, patrons can enjoy their drinks outdoors, too.
3. Shop the holiday market. Local vendors will be on site selling sweet treats, jewelry, art and so much more to help you check off your holiday shopping list.
4. Groove to live music by Bad Habit as well as a special guest DJ, and don’t skip the carolers to really get into the Christmas spirit.
5. Stick around for the circus. After you wrap up the festivities at the plaza, hop over to the corner of Bishop Lindsey Avenue and Magnolia Street for opening night of Piccolo Zoppé’s Winter Circus. Bring the kids or make it a date night and enjoy downtown North Little Rock’s nightlife scene.
