5 Little Rock Slices to Celebrate National Pie Day

Today is a most wonderful day in which we celebrate one of creation’s greatest gifts. That’s right: It’s National Pie Day.

Not to be confused with Pi Day on March 14 (get it?), this hallowed day has been set aside by the American Pie Council, whose commitment lies in “preserving America’s pie heritage and promoting America’s love affair with pies.” And no, we did not make that up.

To help us celebrate, head down to any of your favorite local joints and enjoy a slice. Here are some of Little Rock’s finest and sweetest spots we’ve got our eye on.

The Pie Hole

Still one of the best ideas for a food truck we’ve ever heard, The Pie Hole is offering up some specials. Every slice will be $1off and each pre-ordered pie is $6 off. They’ll be parked at Southwest Power Pool in Chenal from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m., or tomorrow at the Hillcrest Farmers Market from 8 a.m.- noon. And yes, their famous cheddar pear pie will make an appearance.

South on Main

This wouldn’t be a food list without South on Main. Just yesterday, they were taunting us with photos of their creamy buttermilk pie. If the savory route just isn’t your style, this little beaut will pack a punch to your sugar cravings. 1304 Main St.

EJ’s Eats and Drinks

Although their menu varies, this City Center staple has been filling the shelves with their homemade blueberry pies. If you can get your hands on some, do. Plus, blueberries are a superfood, so that makes it nutritious, right? Right? 523 Center St.

Cantina Laredo

It’s a national holiday, so there’s no use in holding back. Ask for their Mexican apple pie and you’ll get a slice sizzling in a skillet with Mexican brandy butter and your choice of cinnamon or vanilla ice cream. Whoa. 207 North University Ave.

Bobby’s Country Cookin’

Like the name suggests, Bobby’s will get you right back to your Southern roots. Don’t have any? That’s ok. With pies like lemon icebox, peanut butter, strawberry whipped, pecan and the McRae Pie (aka a layer of chocolate pie on top of a slayer of coconut pie), you’ll grow some Southern roots real quick. 301 North Shackleford Road.
