2020 is scary enough. We can’t allow COVID-19 to stop us from celebrating another frightfully fun holiday, even if it’s from the comfort of our homes. Here are four socially distanced-approved tips to get us in the Halloween spirit. Candy, costumes and cocktails encouraged.
1. Make visitors beware. No traditional trick-or-treating, no problem. You can still set the tone for the season with a fall-tastic front door wreath. Opt for a traditional look with autumnal colors, pumpkins and gourds or go all-in with colorful, Halloween-inspired décor to lift passerby’s spirits.
2. Invest in boo-tiful flowers. With many of us working from home or tackling virtual learning, there’s no better time to splurge on indoor fall florals, whether it’s a beautiful fresh centerpiece, festive fireplace silk garland or ghoulish arrangement for the entryway.
3. Lift spirits. Help the neighborhood ghouls and boys celebrate this year’s unconventional Halloween with a themed balloon arch with purples, blacks, greens and oranges. Up the spook factor with oversized, flameless candles or eerie uplighting.
4. Offer curbside treats. Concerned about exposing your home to germs? Set up a curbside goodie station by your mailbox or driveway with individually-wrapped treats and hand sanitizer for masked visitors to pick up.
No matter how you choose to celebrate, do it safely and spooktacularly.
