4 Best Bites in West Little Rock

A land of many restaurants awaits you as you head west. Delicious eats, tasty drinks and dishes of all shapes, sizes and flavors can be found in this restaurant scene. As part of our civic duty, Little Rock Soirée has pulled together a few of our must-stop spots in west Little Rock, no matter what you’re craving.

Capers

14502 Cantrell Road, (501) 868-7600

Hours: 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and 5-9:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday; 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and 5-10:30 p.m Friday-Saturday

If one the categories you rank an establishment on is the wine options, Capers should be in your top go-to restaurants. The best part, however, is that the food is just as good. Start with the stuffed artichoke, then move on to the bleu cheeseburger or the grouper florentine over sautéed spinach with bronzed artichokes and a light lemon caper cream. Finish the meal with a slice of coconut cream pie, all paired with the perfect selections from Capers’ extensive wine list.

Table 28

1501 Merrill Drive, (501) 224-8051

Hours: 4-9 p.m. Monday-Thursday; 4-10 p.m. Friday-Saturday

Credit: Daniel Walker | Rock City Eats

Tucked inside the boutique Burgundy Hotel, you’ll find regional ingredients, including locally grown, organic produce, comprising the modern American cuisine on Table 28’s menu. Relax in the newly-renovated dining room as you enjoy some of the most raved-about items on the menu, including the blackened sea bass, quail lollipops and apple crisp. Just make sure you don’t leave without sipping the lavender martini complete with lavender syrup and vanilla vodka. Cheers.

Lilly’s DimSum ThenSome

11121 N. Rodney Parham Road, (501) 716-2700

Hours: 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday; 11:30 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday

With a kitchen full of local and organic ingredients and in-house sauces and dressings, Lilly’s starts off on the right foot. We can’t say “no” to the crab cakes with spicy chili aïoli or the hand-battered coconut shrimp with cherry plum sauce. We also love the hand-rolled Chinese spring rolls and the shrimp, crab and vegetable wontons (shown). Looking for a dish that packs a punch? Try the Spicy Thai Panang Curry with grilled chicken and fresh basil, and you won’t be disappointed. Lilly’s also serves celiac- and vegan-friendly options, as well incredible house-made desserts.

The Main Cheese

14524 Cantrell Road, (501) 367-8082

Hours: 11 a.m.-8:00 p.m. Monday-Thursday; 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday-Saturday

It’s a simple and brilliant idea, building your restaurant around grilled cheese sandwiches. But these aren’t the kind you whip up in two minutes when your pantry is low. Popular dishes are the Ham and Brie (shown below) and the Gruyere’s Ferry Grilled Cheese — named after one of the team’s favorite lakes and favorite cheeses — consisting of marinated grilled zucchini and yellow squash, a smokey pesto and fontina, gruyere and gouda cheeses. Throw in a side of parmesan and garlic fries and you’ll never see cheese the same again.
