Amid concerns surrounding COVID-19, the 2020 Soirée Women’s Leadership Symposium has officially made the move to a virtual event. The second annual half-day symposium will still be held on Friday, Oct. 2, and will feature the previously announced lineup of speakers and panelists, including world-renown designer and entrepreneur Rebecca Minkoff.
“When we originally postponed WLS from April to October, we — like everyone else — hoped to have a better handle on the situation surrounding COVID-19 in the fall,” says Little Rock Soirée publisher and symposium founder Mandy Richardson. “However, at this point, with social distancing guidelines and rising case numbers, we know the safest way to gather is to do so virtually.”
Per its mission, the 2020 WLS will continue to provide professional development for women in the workplace through sessions led by industry experts, entrepreneurs and C-suite executives. The virtual event will include a mix of previously recorded and live sessions that will be available to attendees in real time and for viewing at a later date.
According to Richardson, one silver lining to this format is the newly added VIP experience that came to fruition because of the move to digital. Alongside the Oct. 2 event, the VIP ticket includes an exclusive, live session with Minkoff on Oct. 1, an early morning workout with Unleashed Health & Fitness and access to bonus content, raffles and other surprises to be announced in the coming weeks.
“I couldn’t be more thrilled with how the program is coming together,” Richardson says. “The WLS events team is working with top-of-the-line production firms, technology and communications platforms to execute a unique event with multiple points of interaction, professional development resources and programming. Although we can’t gather in person, this year’s event promises to be the engaging and motivational experience women need, especially now.”
