On Power

People often underestimate the power of listening.

I feel most powerful when I have had a day full of the things that are important in life: my family, my work, community involvement and hopefully, some exercise.

A true sign of power is the ability to support and lift up those around you. Power for power’s sake doesn’t help anyone. Power should be used in a way that is moral and is for the betterment of everyone.

On Motivation

My job challenges me every day. I enjoy the people that I work with and the opportunity I have to build my legal skills and form lasting relationships with other attorneys and clients.  My goal is to provide my firm and my clients with quality service, to learn something new every day, and to face life’s challenges with grace, patience and a sense of humor.

A Typical Weekend

I am an early riser, but not by choice. My husband and I keep busy on the weekends with the activities of our two children. A typical Saturday involves soccer, baseball and time with family and friends. We love to ride around our neighborhood on our golf cart, visiting neighbors, then coming home to grill out and catch up with each other after a busy week. Sunday always includes church and lunch, and Sunday afternoon is my reading and napping time, if at all possible. I can taste a good nap!

The Quiz

  • What I’m reading: I love all genres of books. I don’t watch TV much, preferring to read. Right now I am reading “Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln” by Doris Kearns Goodwin.
  • Pets: We don’t have a cat or a dog; we have a bearded dragon named Dino.
