SoMa’s Esse Purse Museum is celebrating Black History Month and Women’s History Month by teaming up with the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center (MTCC) for a new exhibit titled Reflections: Images and Objects from African American Women, 1891-1987.
In this temporary exhibit, Reflections takes a special look at the day-to-day lives of 19th and 20th century African American women, both public and private. You’ll catch a glimpse of their world through the same lenses we use today — culture, fashion, fads and photos.
This exhibit comes together through the efforts and collections of the MTCC, Esse, Butler Center for Arkansas, the Bernice Lamb McSwain family and Mary and Joshua Swift.
Reflections runs Jan. 31 – April 30. The Esse Purse Museum is located at 1510 Main St. and store hours are 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday and 10 a.m.–3 p.m. Sunday.
