A Searcy native, Harding University graduate and CPA, Luke Underwood has six years of experience as an insurance agent. His two best friends are his wife, Juliana, and their 2-year-old son, Anderson. It's his family, friends and faith that drive him to be a successful agent. For Luke, there is no greater blessing than going home every day to people who love and encourage him. On top of that, he enjoys meeting new people and helping them out.
What lines of insurance do you write? Business, home, auto and life
What type of coverage do consumers often forget? A lot of people aren't driving with sufficient liability limits to protect them if they were to seriously hurt someone in an accident. We live in a very litigious society, and if the court decides to award the other party a higher settlement than your liability limit, your personal assets are free game. Raising your liability limits doesn't usually impact the premium significantly, so definitely ask your agent if you think you're underinsured.
What does a typical day look like for you? Anderson and I eat waffles and talk about trucks, elephants or his plans for the day. Once I get to the office, I catch up with emails and calls and look over the agency's upcoming renewals, flagging accounts that need to be reviewed. After that, I'll inspect property and grab a quick lunch. In the afternoons, I'm usually working on writing new business, providing service to current clients and assisting our other agents if they have coverage or underwriting questions. On the way home, I typically listen to Drivetime Sports, especially during football season. After dinner, I play with Anderson until time for bed. Once he's asleep, Juliana and I are usually up too late watching Netflix and talking.
