Ballet Arkansas has been providing the Little Rock community with countless incredible performances for more than 40 years. Ballet Arkansas enters its 40th anniversary season with an expanded roster, fresh new energy from the artistic team and an exciting lineup for the 2018-19 season.

"Ballet Arkansas’ 40th anniversary season is a perfect time to honor our past and forge new pathways that will last for the next 40 years," associate artistic director Catherine Fothergill says. "Ballet Arkansas strives to provide our community with a variety of enriching and exhilarating programming, both
educational and collaborative."

Main Stage Performances

  • "Dracula"

When: Friday, Oct. 19 at 7 p.m.; Saturday, Oct. 20 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.; Sunday, Oct. 21 at 2 p.m.

Where: CHARTS Theater at UA Pulaski Tech 

Tickets: Tickets will be $30-$35 for individual tickets, $20-$25 for student/senior and $15 for 12 and under. Tickets go on sale June 14, 2018.

"Dracula" — based on Bram Stoker's telling — is suitable for children of all ages and features breathtaking original choreography by artistic director Michael Fothergill, and multi-media experience with projection and 360 sound.

  • 40th Annual "Nutcracker" Spectacular 

When: Friday, Dec. 7 at 7 p.m.; Saturday, Dec. 8 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.; Sunday, Dec. 9 at 2 p.m.

Where: Robinson Performance Hall

Tickets: Tickets $23-$73 and $99 for "Sweet Seats." Tickets go on sale June 1, 2018.

This magical production features nearly 200 local children and adults, in addition to the professional artists of Ballet Arkansas. Those that purchase "Sweet Seats" will receive a special gift and get to see the show from the best seats in the house! 

  • "Fire & Rain"

When: Thursday, Feb. 14 at 7 p.m.; Friday, Feb. 15 at 7 p.m.; Saturday, Feb. 16 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.; Sunday, Feb. 17 at 2 p.m.

"Fire & Rain" combines the drama and precision of classical ballet with the power and athleticism of contemporary dance. Attendees will enjoy the romantic Romeo and Juliet balcony scene, a fiery Don Quixote suite and a tribute to James Taylor.

  • "Forte"

When: Friday, May 3 at 7 p.m.; Saturday, May 4 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.; Sunday, May 5 at 2 p.m.

Tickets: Tickets will be $30-$35 for individual tickets, $20-$25 for student/senior and $15 for 12 and under. Tickets go on sale June 14, 2018.

"Forte" will cap off the 2018-19 season. The performance will be a collaboration with internationally acclaimed musician Dr. Drew Mays. Audience members will be able to see the athleticism of contemporary creations, as well as ballet classics including the Swan Lake suite. 

 

Children’s Series

  • "Mary Poppins"

When: Feb. 17, 2019, at noon

Where: CHARTS Theater at UA Pulaski Tech

Tickets: $10 for children and $15 for adults. Tickets go on sale June 14, 2018.

For one performance only, Ballet Arkansas will present "Mary Poppins." Children are invited on stage to participate and dance with Mary Poppins herself. 

  • "The Ugly Duckling"

When: May 5, 2019, at noon

Where: CHARTS Theater at UA Pulaski Tech

Tickets: $10 for children and $15 for adults. Tickets go on sale June 14, 2018.

"The Ugly Duckling" is a perfect production for children of all ages and delicately broaches the topic of bullying with a dose of humor.
