“A Christmas Carol” Opening Night at Argenta Community Theater: There’s nothing like a holiday classic to get you in the Christmas spirit, and there’s nothing like scary spirits to help you see the meaning of it all. Home for the Holidays with the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra at the Robinson Center: Ho ho ho, ASO. The Arkansas Symphony Orchestra is bringing merriment to the masses during this annual event. Conducted by Philip Mann, this production will showcase holiday favorites like “There’s No Place Like Home for the Holidays,” “Sleigh Ride,” selections from “The Polar Express” and a Hanukah medley. Arkansas Chamber Singers Holiday Concert at the Old State House Museum: It doesn’t get much more Christmas-y than this. The ACS is dedicated to performing the best of classical choral repertoire and their annual holiday program does just that with familiar seasonal songs highlighting the idea of the universality of song. You have three chances to hear them perform this weekend: 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 3 p.m. on Sunday. Although tickets are free, it’s suggested you reserve your seat ahead of time.
