Since we first learned of Three Fold Noodles and Dumpling Co.'s plans to relocate to Main Street, we've been anxiously awaiting details. Now, only a few short weeks from opening day, we're getting an exclusive taste.

Three Fold is moving out after three years at 215 Center St. and setting up shop at 611 Main, gaining new neighbors like the Arkansas Repertory Theatre, Cranford Co. and the rest of the Creative Corridor crew.

Along with some much-needed extra square footage, the new location will allow the restaurant to expand its menu to include breakfast and craft beers on tap. Operating hours will be 7-10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. Monday-Saturday.

Keeping with its calling card design aesthetic, the Main Street space will be minimalistic and bright. Expect loads of natural light and white tile with natural wood pieces and metallic accents.

One big change with the new space will be the service style. Instead of its current cafeteria-style approach, the restaurant will adopt runner service — where customers order in line, take a seat and their food is brought to their table — in hopes of bettering traffic flow and maintaining Three Fold's fast-casual status.

A grand opening ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 28, with a soft opening on Sept. 25. The Center Street location is set to close on Sept. 22.

However, these dates are dependent on one critical factor: Some of the necessary kitchen equipment is currently held up in Houston due to Hurricane Harvey. If the equipment is further delayed, it could push back the opening date. Keep an eye on this page, as we'll be updating the opening status.

But storm or no storm, Three Fold is thanking its customers for three years of Center Street support by giving guests the chance to win a free meal. From Sept. 8-22, people can draw for a chance to win one of 100 vouchers to be used Oct. 2 - Dec. 31 (only valid on the purchase of one signature bowl or bun, one side and one fountain beverage, not including alcohol or bubble tea).

To keep up with Three Fold developments, follow the restaurant on Facebook and Instagram, and find menus on its website.
