Little Rock eatery Viva Vegan is set to open a brick-and-mortar location at 4601 West 12th Street, on the corner of 12th and Adams.
Founded in September of 2016, Viva Vegan's plant-based menu includes gluten-free and allergy-friendly options, pulling from a wide range of influences like Mexican, Indian, Thai and American foods. Since opening, they've operated primarily through pop-ups, catering and online orders.
According to owner and Chef Maria Larios, the new space will have a fun and relaxed atmosphere — one they hope customers consider a second home — complete with a main dining area, a study nook and two separate patios.
"We're really excited that our customers will be able to have new experiences depending on where they decide to sit down," Larios said, adding that the location of the building was crucial in the search for the perfect place.
"One of our top priorities was to have Viva Vegan within our neighborhood," Larios said. "Our drive has always been fueled by community growth."
And that's not the only thing growing. Viva Vegan's menu will expand with the move, building on staples like tacos and doughnuts. Larios says the biggest addition will be in the realms of desserts and drinks, including more baked goods, raw desserts, agua frescas and coffee.
"With that said," she added, "we have always believed that quality is more important than quantity, and our menu will continue to reflect that."
As of now, there is no set opening date, but the owners hope to open before the end of August. Proposed shop hours are 5-11 p.m. Wednesday-Thursday and 5 p.m.- midnight Friday-Saturday, but those are likely to change based on customer needs and input.
