There's about to be a new burger in town, ladies and gents. Burger 21 plans on opening its first Arkansas location sometime in April in west Little Rock.

The fast-casual specialty burger franchise out of Tampa, Florida, will be run by franchisee Allen Hurst. Hurst is a switching gears from the mortgage business in Colorado to the burger business in his hometown.

Burger 21 offers a wide selection of burgers including turkey, seafood, veggie, chicken and the traditional beef burgers. Along with burgers, the restaurant serves sweet treats such as cookies, shakes, floats and sundaes. We've got our eye on the Cookie Sundae with your choice of cookie, vanilla ice cream, Ghirardelli chocolate sauce topped with whipped cream and chocolate chips. Yum.

As if burgers and shakes weren't great on their own, Burger 21 has a commitment to the communities it serves. Each restaurant donates 10 percent of the day’s proceeds to a local charity or school on the 21st of each month.

Until the April opening date, be looking out for signs of progress at Burger 21's first Arkansas location at 12319 Chenal Parkway near Bed Bath & Beyond.
