Grab your grocery list. You've got a few more things to add.

Now in its seventh year, the 1 Million Meals initiative from Arvest Bank is officially underway to fight hunger in the 120+ communities the bank serves.

Joining forces with the Arkansas Foodbank, the fundraiser/food drive launched earlier this month and runs through June 3, wherein all are invited to join in with monetary and nonperishable food donations.

The goal is to provide at least one million meals to the Foodbank, which will then be distributed to 72 local organizations working to feed hungry Arkansans.

"The 1 Million Meals campaign makes a big difference in the amount of food available to local families and individuals who are facing food insecurity," president and CEO of Arvest Bank in Little Rock Jim Cargill said. "Arvest associates work hard to exceed our goal every year, and we hope the central Arkansas community will help us succeed in that effort in support of our friends and neighbors who are in need."

Because the deadline is June 3, you have plenty of time to make plenty of donations. (For perspective: A one-dollar donation equals five meals.) Help out by giving at any of the Arvest branches in central Arkansas or by calling (866) 952-9523.
