Louisiana might just have met its match.

Either way, we've got our calendars marked for the annual Hat Club Crawfish Salute, which returns on Friday, May 12, from 6-10 p.m. at the River Market Pavillions in downtown Little Rock.

For just $40, you can enjoy all-you-can-eat crawfish with all the fixin's and cold beverages, as well as live music, a raffle and a silent auction. And yes, the Crawtucky Derby will be back again, too. For newcomers, that's a crawfish race that is every bit as ridiculous and awesome as it sounds.

The Hat Club is a nonprofit that helps other charitable organizations through fundraising, community service and charity events like the Miracle Wiff wiffleball tournament and Chili Fights in The Heights. Each year, the Crawfish Salute sets its sights on one organization, and this year, the event salutes (and benefits) the UAMS Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Community Connections.
